Sitting outside of my studio I can hear my husband, through an open window, explaining March Madness to my 95 year-old mom. It’s a beautiful afternoon, the birds are singing and every once in a while basketball whoops drift out the open window.
The NPSOT Spring Symposium was held at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. This place is awesome so if you ever get close, you have to visit!
Topics this year included Rainscaping, Plants of the Chihuahua Desert, The Cibolo Nature Center and Farm, Perspective on Native Seeds and Fireflies of Texas. My absolute favorite was the Perspective on Native Seeds. Each of us has a responsibility to create little spots of pureness in our environment.
It doesn't matter where we live. Plant native and let nature take over. Check out the Native American Seed company. A family owned business, these guys really care. If you live in or near Texas, check out their native wildflower seed blends: Apache Plateau, Comanche and Caddo.
