Kozo paper, also known as mulberry paper, is made from the long inner bark fibers of the paper mulberry tree. Hand-beaten it creates a beautiful sheet filled with long, visible fibers. In a beater, the pulp becomes smoother, uniform, and creates a denser sheet. The fiber in this piece was machine beaten.
